A change gonna come

Am I the only one who's got nothing left on Friday nights? I go to the gym, come hone and pass out. If I make ten p.m. it's a shock. The gym isn't wholly to blame, cause I'm usually spent before I even go.

Saturday I had a good practice, and worked on my technique, and even got some pointers from the guys who coach. It's very odd playing a new position at my advanced age. I do think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Saturday afternoon brought my first trip to PHP or Pizza Hut Park. On the outside it looks the construction site that it is, but inside is greatness. Every seat is good and the concourse is wide open and you can see the field really well. All that 'Wrigley Field of soccer' talk is pretty much right on. Of course it looks like you are in the middle of small town Texas, with grain elevators in the background, but that will all be changing very soon. As for the game, FCD is still not hitting on all cylinders, they jumped out 2-0 by halftime, but slipped up a bit and ended up tied at 2. Not the result we wanted, but we were still pretty happy. My sister was at the game, and she said the Inferno could be heard loud and clear. I was bummed that my brother wasn't able to attend due to some complications from his wisdom teeth. It was cool to see people I know there, I mean above and beyond the Inferno loyals. The best news was they didn't whip your ass the way American Airlines center does with constant noise and giveaways etc. I fear there will be more in the future, but there seems to be a better sense of less is more on that stuff. 9 of the last 12 are at home, so come out.

There is another game this Saturday night, as we face the East leading NE revolution. Come on out, and buy a $10 seat and hang with us. I know it's far, but it's easy just take the tollway to Oklahoma (so it seems)

Sunday had a family get together to celebrate several recent birthdays, and the eatin' was mighty good.

Gym
sleep
soccer
PHP
sleep
gym
family thing
sleep

Yeah that's pretty much it.

You are not the only one who has nothing left on Fridays. I'm lucky to see 10:00.

I'd like to see a game. MLS is one of the few sports that I understand and have the patience to watch. Maybe in Sept or whenever the heat becomes more embraceable.

I too will make the trek north for MLS. That picture the Morning New ran this weekend of the great Lamar Hunt standing in the stadium sold me that the place is really well laid out.

But like K, I think I'll wait a bit longer in the season when it's not hot as hell to visit PHP.

I'm over the fact that they moved so far away from La Raza. They got the thing built where they could get county and city funding to get it done. Simple as that really, once you see it all is forgiven.
